Calvary was a pleasure to work with. The staff was very kind, helpful and compassionate.
I was actually not given my meds when I left or the right prescriptions I am not happy about that I have a raging headache because I can’t get my prescriptions filled and I have to wait til another day to get them written properly for me, besides that the service was great.
I brought my son here with no idea what center to turn to. Thankfully, I believe God led me here. This center possibly saved my son's life. When he entered detox he had fentanyl in his system, and one day could have made the difference in a different outcome for him. The staff here at Calvary are to be commended. They are mostly recovering addicts and have extra insight and empathy. I was amazed at how smoothly the intake process went even when my son was emotionally irrational. He really had no intentions of staying in the program. But, the detox was comfortable and then the caring, patient attitude of the staff won him over. He stayed for IOP and residential and the extra time helped solidify his decision and give the understanding and knowledge he needed to better guard himself once he was out facing "real life". If I could encourage one person, please take the steps you need to help your loved one. Don't let the drug control your loved one, and then in turn control your environment. The opioid epidemic has to change, and it will if we all take part and get involved. Read the book, Smoke and Mirrors and you'll get it. I took part in the PAL modules and it really helped me understand addiction. And, I don't mean empathizing addiction, but gave me the understanding I needed to combat the problem. Just want to thank the staff so much who made a difference in giving back. It's not everyday you see people working from their heart. Hope I haven't missed someone. Blessed to have found Calvary and have a family member successfully complete the inpatient and IOP program. Truly lifesaving. Thank you to the staff and directors. You have to want the help to get clean and it’s not easy especially for young adults. And it’s not a cheap program but healthcare is expensive even with insurance but saving a life is worth the price. Thankful for health insurance coverage that allowed us to admit my family member.
Dr Kazan and Dr valbuena and nurses and staff are amazing. Detox was smooth and easy. Detox was very comfortable. I slept 10 hrs 1st night. Residential was good to. Total at Calvary healing center for 17 days. I learned a lot. Feels amazing being sober in 10 yrs. I transferred to IOP. Intensive outpatient program. Post rehab at home.
I told my mom about 3 years ago that I didn't want to suffer anymore after turning 25, it's enough! She reminded me of what I had said, I was 24 and anyway, at that point I was crying every time I got high. I would smoke my opiates on tin foil and watch my tears fall and just miss the goods. This was a daily thing for me. I was 24 and it was time for me to go. My mom found CHANDLER VALLEY OF HOPE=AWFUL. Where I spent 6 days. 3 of them they had me knocked out on suboxone! HOW DARE THEM NOT USE SUBUTEX!! So 3/6-3/12 I spent at that scam of Chandler. Then brought my homeless detox roommate home with me and caused a horror of a weekend for my parents and entire family! After the trouble I had caused! I told my mom to find anywhere she wanted me to and that I'd go. Calvary was a great option because they have the hospital resources that Chandler did not. This time I was a little more curious, entering another detox💫3/14/16 is my sobriety date 😍And this place opened my eyes through inspiration- a lot, from the staff, because most are also in recovery. Cool. I am 26 years old now, I spent my time in detox, rehab 30 days, PHP 5 days/week, IOP 3 days/week. I lived in sober living for 2 months before heading home to work in Tucson in my family business. I am grateful I am alive. And it's all thanks to calvary and the friends I met, related to, inspired lectures, funny small group sessions-SOOO MUCH FOOD. That you have no right to complain. Watch out, I gained 25 pounds during my stay there! I would reccomend Calvary to every and any addict!! An addict with an open mind to a new way of living, feeling and thinking! also, I received the VIVITROL SHOT first at calvary, I am still on the shot and thankful to have this shot covering my back, so I don't have to bother worrying about triggers and relapses. Vivitrol confirms that this addict is committed to 28 days of opiate free living. It also takes away my drug dreams/nightmares Calvary healing center 🙏🏻Thank you!
I came here in 2012, and at first I was not wanting to be there and was only there to prove I could stop using, but I have been to other rehabs wit the same mentality and ended up relapsing, buut once I opened my mind, and gave this place a shot, I met some amazing people and staff was fun and wanting to help in any and all ways possible. This place helped me open up and share about my addiction and not feel so ashamed about it, as well as my legal issues, down fall was no NA was part of the program. This place helped save me and get back in touch with my higher power, love the recovery bible I received. The staff there was very understanding. I want to thank the staff if any of them are still there from 2012
This place saved my life. Period. Some of the negative comments posted here about Calvary reek of spite, projection, and insecurity, so let me set the record straight. I will preface all of this by letting you know that I am reluctant to leave a public review of a treatment center. However, if it helps convince one person to come here, their life is worth more than my anonymity. I'd recommend you ask yourself two questions if you are looking for help with your problem... 1) Do I want help getting clean because I actually want a better life for MYSELF? 2) Am I willing to do anything to get clean, including, but not limited too; -Taking suggestions? -Allowing myself to be uncomfortable at times for the sake of personal and spiritual growth? -Giving up ALL substances of abuse, not just the ones I think I have a specific problem with? -Allowing myself to be held accountable? -Letting go of the need to feel "in control" of everything? If you can honestly answer "yes" to the two questions above, than you will not find a better place than Calvary. Period. If you have answered "no" to either of the questions above, than you will be holding yourself back from success no matter where you go. I know this to be true, as I went here twice. The first time I went, I was not committed to myself. I was there to appease family members and my roommate. I wanted to be clean, sure, but I thought a few weeks of being physically removed from substances would be enough. As such, I did not take suggestions, I skipped groups, I constantly acted out towards the staff. I left after about three weeks. I went to the ATM machine right away, and was off the wagon in less than an hour after I left. The staff exhibited saintly patience with me despite my being a pain in the ass 24/7, they never gave up on me...I just didn't want it. The second time I came im still not quite fully committed. However, through God and I given the gift of desperation along with a willingness to do anything necessary to stay clean. The three big tools I gained early on at Calvary were honesty, open mindedness, and willingness. With the help of staff and my fellow patients, I took suggestions, gained awareness of my thoughts and behaviors, and made wholesale changes in my life. 36 months and 21 days (as of this post) since I walked through those doors, I am still clean. I've been to many treatment centers, and all have their advantages and disadvantages. I will list them for Calvary below. (Advantages) -Detox was comfortable and was medically well controlled. I did not feel much, if any withdrawals once removed from the detox meds. -Head doctor is extremely knowledgeable and cares. He is skilled at finding recovery appropriate medications for issues like pain and anxiety. -The techs are unbelievably professional, friendly, and caring. -Most of the staff consists of addicts in recovery, allowing for greater empathy and for trust to be easily gained. -Nightly meetings (AA, CA, HA, & CMA). -Residential workshops build foundational knowledge of 12 Steps. -Residential unit has piano and guitar for patient use. Staff is always happy to print out chords and tabs. (Disadvantages) -Techs are understaffed at times. -Only AA "Big Book" groups bring meetings in and all 12 step work is done through AA literature. No Narcotics Anonymous meetings are brought in and no workshops using NA literature are done. (NA is my program of choice) -The previous two are the only big ones for me, but I do wish they would allow vaping (they allow smoking). To sum everything up, Calvary is the place to go if you are serious about staying clean and are willing to do the work. You will get back as much as you put into it. The folks here will expect you to do your part, but trust me, they will do theirs. To the Calvary staff, if you are reading this, Thank you so much. Because of you, I am now able to bring meetings into a treatment center for adolescents. Because you helped save my life, I can now help save others. With love, Greg B -with your help, clean since 7/23/16
Good Program
Doctor will go on vacation and discharge you with no prescription for meds you are physically dependent on. Then act like it is all patients fault. 2 hour notice of being discharged and only met with therapist once in an entire month.
